Why We Need to Act
Why Advocate for Mercury Prevention?
Toxic mercury pollution not only threatens the health of Virginia?s citizens, but the viability of our vital tourism and fishing economies. In the past two years, Virginia?s General Assembly has approved two bills that have the potential to significantly affect how much toxic mercury pollution is released in Virginia. We must act now to require significantly greater reductions in mercury pollution from power plants and other sources.
